「女人哭入法堂，百丈問：『作什麼？』云：『父母俱喪，請師揀日。』師云：『明日一時埋却。』」代云：「換手搥胸。」

"A woman entered the Dharma hall weeping. Baizhang asked, 'What is the matter?' She said, 'Both my parents have died; I ask the Master to select a day.' The Master said, 'Bury them both at once tomorrow.'" Replacing [the original words], he said, "Beating the chest with alternating hands."
