「淨照禪師問楞嚴大師：『經中道：若能轉物，即同如來。只如升元閣，作麼生轉得？』」代云：「彼此老人。」
"Chan Master Jingzhao asked the Great Master of the *Śūraṅgama-sūtra*: 'The scripture says: "If one can transform things, one is identical to the Tathāgata." How can the Shengyuan Pavilion be transformed?'" Replacing [his words], he said: "Both of us are old men."
