洞山勘泰上座云：「有一物黑洞洞，上拄天下拄地，常在動用中，動用中收不得，過在什麼處？」泰云：「過在動用中。」山便喝出。

Dongshan examined Senior Monk Tai, asking: "There is a thing, pitch black: it props up heaven above and supports earth below; it is always in motion and function, yet within motion and function it cannot be contained. Where does its fault lie?" Tai said: "The fault lies in motion and function." Dongshan immediately shouted him out.
