Attendant Guo asked Deshan, "Where have all the sages from antiquity gone?"
Deshan said, "What? What?"
Guo said, "The imperial court ordered the selection of a flying-dragon steed; why has a lame turtle stuck its head out?"
Deshan let the matter rest. The next day, during bathing, Deshan hit Guo once with a wooden ladle and said, "How about yesterday's gong'an?"
Guo said, "Only today has this old fellow finally caught a glimpse."
