舉：「阿難偈云：『本來付有法，付了言無法，各各須自悟，悟了無無法。』」師云：「後來子孫不肖，祖父田園，不耕不種，一時荒廢，向外馳求。縱有些少知解，盡是浮財不實。所以作客不如歸家，多虛不如少實。」

He brought up: “Ānanda’s gāthā says: ‘Originally an existing Dharma was transmitted, / Having transmitted it, it was said there is no Dharma; / Each must awaken for oneself, / Having awakened, there is no absence of Dharma.’” The Master said: “Later descendants were unworthy; the fields and gardens of their ancestors were neither plowed nor planted, completely abandoned, while they raced outward in pursuit. Even if they have a little understanding, it is all floating wealth, insubstantial. Therefore, being a guest is not as good as returning home; much emptiness is not as good as a little reality.”
