上堂，云：「日從東邊出，月向西邊沒，一出一沒，從古至今，汝等諸人，盡知盡見。毘盧遮那，無邊無際，日用千差，隨緣自在，汝等諸人，為甚不見？蓋為情存數量，見在果因，未能逾越聖情、超諸影迹。若明一念緣起無生，等日月之照臨、同乾坤而覆載；若也不見，牢度大神惡發，把爾腦一擊粉碎。」下座。

Ascending the hall, he said: "The sun rises from the east, and the moon sets toward the west. One rising and one setting, from antiquity to the present—all of you completely know it, completely see it. Vairocana is boundless and limitlessly vast; in daily use there are a thousand differences, at ease in following conditions. Why do all of you not see it? It is simply because sentiment dwells on quantities and views dwell in cause and effect, unable to surpass holy sentiment or transcend all traces and shadows. If you understand that in a single thought dependent origination is unarisen, you will be equal to the illumination of the sun and moon and identical to heaven and earth in overspreading and sustaining. If you do not see it, the great spirit Raudra will flare up in rage and shatter your skulls with a single blow!" He descended from the seat.
