昔日溈山有水牯，而今老倒臥荒丘，形容卓立雖無力，灌啖依前是好牛。四野草青隨處放，千峯雪白早須收，若能擡舉及時節，極目桑田何用憂。

In former days, Guishan had a water buffalo, / Who now lies old and broken on a deserted hill. / Though weak in standing upright in form and appearance, / Drinking and eating, it is still a fine ox as before. / In the four fields where the grass is green, let it graze anywhere; / When a thousand peaks turn white with snow, bring it in early. / If you can raise and support it according to the season, / Looking out over the mulberry fields as far as the eye can see, why worry?
