上堂，云：「彌勒真彌勒，分身千百億，時時示時人，時人皆不識。」師乃擲下拄杖，便歸方丈。

Ascending the hall, he said: “Maitreya, the true Maitreya, / Divides his body into hundreds of billions of forms; / Constantly revealing himself to people of the time, / Yet people of the time do not recognize him.” The Master then threw down his staff and returned to the abbot’s quarters.
