上堂舉：「雲門一日普請般柴次，乃拋下一片柴云：『一大藏教，只說者箇。』」師云：「大小雲門，錯下註脚。老僧當時若見，向伊道：『普請處不得狼藉，若點檢得出，免儞普請。』」

Ascending the hall, he cited: "One day, during communal labor carrying firewood, Yunmen threw down a piece of firewood and said, 'The entire great canon of teachings only speaks of this.'" The Master said: "Grand Yunmen appended the wrong footnote! If this old monk had seen him at that time, I would have said to him, 'In the place of communal labor you must not make a mess! If you can discern this, you will be exempted from communal labor.'"
