上堂云：「望天祈好雪，祥瑞實難加，鵲噪青松上，變成白老鵶。紫騮牽出薄寒馬，金鐙粧成銀鏤花，苦苦苦箇什麼？忽然變成雨。」

Ascending the hall, he said: "Looking up to heaven, praying for good snow; / Truly hard to add to auspicious portents! / Magpies chatter atop the green pines, / Turning into white crows. / The purple roan is led out, a horse in the biting chill; / Golden stirrups are chased into silver-carved flowers. / Bitter, bitter, bitter—what of it? / Suddenly, it turns to rain."
