上堂，舉起拳頭云：「若喚作拳頭，一似不曾行脚；若不喚作拳頭，對面相謾。除此之外，也少一拳不得。」

Ascending the hall, he held up his fist and said, "If you call it a fist, it is just as if you had never gone on pilgrimage; if you do not call it a fist, you deceive each other to the face. Aside from this, one cannot do without this fist either."
