謝典座上堂云：「變生作熟雖然易，眾口調和轉見難，鹹澹若知真箇味，自然飢飽不相干。」

Thanking the director of meals, he ascended the hall and said, "Turning the raw into the cooked is indeed easy, / But harmonizing many mouths proves increasingly hard. / If one knows the true flavor of salty and bland, / Naturally hunger and fullness have nothing to do with each other."
