Having returned from going out to collect alms himself, he ascended the hall and said: "Baiyun's Haihui Cloister / Has plenty of water, firewood, and charcoal; / Only hemp and wheat are lacking, / As everyone can plainly see. / Going in person to convert the dānapatis, / I neglected the arhats. / Looking forward to your great compassion, / One and all, look to the Buddha's face! Assembly! The Buddha's body fills the Dharma realm—how do you see it? I say it is not separated by even a single thread."
