上堂云：「幸然無一事，行脚要參禪，却被禪相惱，不透祖師關。如何是祖師關？把火入牛欄。」

Ascending the hall, he said: "Fortunately, there is nothing at all to do, / Yet traveling on foot, you want to practice Chan. / Instead, distressed by the marks of Chan, / You fail to pass the ancestral teachers' checkpoint. / What is the ancestral teachers' checkpoint? / Carrying a torch into the cow pen."
