1.98

上堂云：「二月春將半，相呼同賞翫，寒食近清明，百花開爛熳，或上白雲峯，或遊赤水畔，野外標墳人，路傍酒醉漢，半笑半悲啼，真誠堪讚嘆。人人謂我泄天機，子細分明與批判。看看，五湖禪客莫輕詶，記取今朝者公案。」

Ascending the hall, he said: "In the second month, spring is half gone; / Calling to one another, together we enjoy the sights. / Cold Food Festival is near Qingming; / A hundred flowers bloom in brilliant profusion. / Some ascend Baiyun Peak, / Some wander by the shores of the Red Water: / In the open countryside, those marking graves; / By the roadside, drunkards reeking of wine. / Half laughing and half weeping, / Their sincerity is truly worthy of praise. / Everyone says I am disclosing heaven's secrets, / Explaining and judging them with precise clarity. / Look, look! / Chan travelers of the five lakes, do not reply lightly; / Remember well this gong'an of today!"
