結夏上堂云：「聖制已臨，時當初夏，幽邃之巖巒蒼翠，畢鉢無差；潺湲之溪谷清冷，曹溪髣髴。稱衲子安居之地，實吾家禁足之方，大敝禪關巨延儔侶，扶立宗旨高建法幢，上答君親下資含識，莫不栴檀林中栴檀林，師子王多師子眾。師子眾，共躋攀，萬象森羅指掌間。大眾！灰頭土面從他笑，贏得白雲堆裏閑。」

Ascending the hall at the start of the summer retreat, he said: "The sacred regulation has arrived, the season is early summer. In the deep and secluded crags and peaks, lush and verdant, Pippala is no different; in the babbling mountain streams and valleys, clear and cold, Caoxi is mirrored. Befitting a patch-robed monk's dwelling for the retreat, this is truly our school's method of confining the feet. Throwing wide the Chan gate, we extend a great invitation to companions, upholding the ancestral lineage and raising high the Dharma banner, repaying sovereign and parents above and assisting sentient beings below. Truly, within the sandalwood forest is a sandalwood forest; where the lion king resides are many lions. The host of lions scale the heights together; / The myriad phenomena are right within the palm of the hand. / Great assembly! / Let others laugh at our covered-in-ash, mud-streaked faces; / What we gain is leisure amid the mounds of white clouds."
