上堂云：「庭開金菊宿根生，來雁新聞一兩聲，昨夜七峯牽老興，千思萬想到天明。」

Ascending the hall, he said: / "In the courtyard, golden chrysanthemums bloom from old roots; / For the first time, one or two calls of arriving wild geese are heard. / Last night, the Seven Peaks stirred an old man's interest: / A thousand thoughts, ten thousand ponderings, until the dawn."
