上堂云：「春風別有巧工夫，吹綻百花品類殊，唯有牡丹并芍藥，時人一見便歡娛。且道衲僧分上，成得什麼邊事？拈來嗅罷歸何處，透骨馨香付老盧。」

Ascending the hall, he said: "The spring breeze has its own clever skill, / Blowing open a hundred flowers of diverse kinds. / Only with the tree peony and herbaceous peony / Do the people of the time rejoice the moment they see them. / And tell me, on the part of a patch-robed monk, / What sort of matter is accomplished? / Taking them up and sniffing them, where do they return to? / Fragrance piercing to the bone is entrusted to old Lu."
