上堂云：「仲春漸暖牡丹生卵，紫鷰攢身黃鸎開眼，共賞芳春三盃兩盞，唯有白雲一生擔板。」

Ascending the hall, he said, "In mid-spring it gradually warms and the peonies lay eggs; / Purple swallows cluster their bodies and yellow orioles open their eyes. / Together enjoying the fragrant spring with three cups and two goblets, / Only Baiyun carries a board his whole life."
