上堂，舉：「永嘉道：『亦無人，亦無佛，大千沙界海中漚，一切聖賢如電拂。』大眾！這裏若不具金剛眼睛，便見髑髏遍野。如何即是？劍閣路雖險，夜行人更多。」

Ascending the hall, he cited: "Yongjia said, 'There are no people and there are no Buddhas; the great chiliocosms are bubbles in the ocean, and all the sages and worthies are like flashes of lightning.' Great assembly! Right here, if you do not possess the diamond eye, you will see skulls covering the wilds. How can one be correct? Though the road through Sword Pass is perilous, nighttime travelers are even more numerous."
