上堂云：「今朝三月初五，老漢亦無所補，無字指路堂堂，枉見衲僧受苦。畢竟如何？如人學射。」

Ascending the hall, the Master said: “Today is the fifth day of the third month; / This old fellow also has nothing to contribute. / The character ‘wu’ points the road openly; / In vain patch-robed monks are seen enduring bitterness. / In the end, what is it? Like a person learning archery.”
