上堂云：「媚景中春暖色暄，盡塵沙界一般天，林巒蓊欝爭蒼翠，花柳芬芳鬪色鮮。蝶弄牡丹飛勢緊，蜂遊芍藥謾遲延，人生幾度逢春景，何不於中種福田？」

Ascending the hall, he said: "The charming scene in mid-spring has warm light and gentle heat; throughout the worlds of dust and sand there is just one sky. Forest and mountain ridges cluster luxuriantly, vying in verdant green; flowers and willows are fragrant, competing in fresh hues. Butterflies play among the peonies, their flying pace swift; bees wander among the Chinese herbaceous peonies, lingering slowly. How many times in a human life does one encounter spring scenery? Why not sow the field of blessings within it?"
