1.55

寶華侍者來看師，師問：「寶華多少眾？」侍者云：「不勞和尚如此。」師云：「我好好問，爾勃趒作什麼？」侍者云：「不得放過。」師云：「真師子兒，喫茶了。」師把住云：「適來得恁麼無禮。」侍者擬議，被師一掌云：「歸去分明舉似寶華。」

The attendant of Baohua came to see the Master. The Master asked, "How large is the assembly at Baohua?" The attendant said, "There is no need for the Upādhyāya to be like this." The Master said, "I asked properly; why are you jumping about?" The attendant said, "You must not let me off." The Master said, "A true lion's cub! Drink tea now." The Master seized him and said, "Just now you were so rude!" The attendant hesitated; the Master gave him a slap and said, "Go back and clearly report this to Baohua."
