問新到：「發足甚處？」僧拍掌一下，師云：「兩重公案。」僧云：「恰是。」師便喝，僧無語，師云：「還我一拍來。」僧擬議，師云：「瞎漢，參堂去。」

He asked a newcomer, "Where did you set out from?" The monk clapped his hands once. The Master said, "A two-fold public case." The monk said, "Precisely so." The Master then gave a shout; the monk had no words. The Master said, "Return that one clap to me." The monk hesitated. The Master said, "Blind fellow, go to the assembly hall!"
