因中山主為師煎茶，師問僧：「爾隨例喫茶，將何報答？」僧云：「因風吹火。」師不肯，自代云：「難為和尚。」復云：「還會麼？」僧云：「不會。」師云：「爾也須煎一會茶始得。」

Because Master of the Mountain Zhong brewed tea for the Master, the Master asked a monk: "You drink tea following along with the routine; with what will you repay [him]?" The monk said: "Blowing on the fire by means of the wind." The Master did not accept this, and substituted his own words, saying: "It has been hard on the upādhyāya!" He added: "Do you understand yet?" The monk said: "I do not understand." The Master said: "You too must brew a pot of tea before you get it."
