一日云：「義出豐年，儉生不孝，於佛法中作麼生辯損益？」便下座。

One day he said: "Righteousness comes forth in years of harvest; parsimony breeds unfilial children. Within the Buddhadharma, how do you distinguish gain and loss?" He then stepped down from the seat.
