示眾云：「父子親其居，尊卑異其位，於衲僧分上，是放開？是揑聚？或若辯得，分半院與爾。」
Instructing the assembly, he said: "Father and son are intimate in their dwelling; noble and base differ in their rank. From the standpoint of patch-robed monks, is this letting loose or squeezing together? If you can discern it, I will give half the temple to you."
