有時云：「袖頭打領，腋下剜襟，諸方一任剪裁。南山起雲，北山下雨，衲子作麼話會？」

At another time he said: "Strike a collar at the cuff, cut a lapel under the armpit; allow the various quarters to tailor as they please. Clouds arise on the South Mountain, and rain falls on the North Mountain; how do you patch-robed monks understand this?"
