2.17

問聽道者：「久參事作麼生？」道者云：「青天白日。」師云：「亂走作什麼？」者便喝，師云：「喫棒。」者擬舉手，師打一坐具云：「爾看者瞎漢亂與。」

He asked a novice listener, "How is the matter of long training?" The novice said, "Clear sky and bright sun." The master said, "Why run around aimlessly?" The novice shouted. The master said, "Take the stick!" The novice was about to raise his hand, but the master struck him with a sit-mat, saying, "Look at this blind fellow acting wildly!"
