師在大龍為知客，李殿院到山，茶話次問師：「知客是長老鄉人？」師云：「不敢。」院云：「且在者裏不得亂走。」師云：「本為行脚。」院云：「行脚為甚事？」師云：「看亂走底。」院微笑。

When the master served as guest master at Dalong, Palace Censor Li arrived at the mountain. During tea conversation, he asked the master, "Is the guest master a fellow townsman of the elder?" The master said, "I would not presume so." The censor said, "Just stay here and do not run about wildly." The master said, "Pilgrimage was originally my purpose." The censor said, "For what purpose do you go on pilgrimage?" The master said, "To see those who run about wildly." The censor smiled faintly.
