2.62

一日云：「大眾！者一片田地，分付來多時也。爾諸人四至界畔猶未識在，若要中心一樹子，我也不惜。」良久云：「放憨作麼？」便下座。

One day the Master said, “Great assembly! This piece of land has been entrusted to you for a long time. You still do not recognize its four boundaries. If you want the single tree in the center, I would not begrudge it.” After a long pause, he said, “Why are you playing the fool?” Then he stepped down from the seat.
