舉：「臨濟示眾云：『我於先師處，三度喫六十棒，如蒿枝子拂相似。如今思一頓棒喫，誰為下手？』僧出眾云：『某甲下手。』濟拈棒與僧，僧擬接，便打。」師云：「臨濟放處較危，收來太速。」

He brought up: "Linji instructed the assembly, saying: 'At my former master's place, I received sixty blows of the stick three times, like being brushed with mugwort stalks. Now I think of taking a thrashing of the stick: who will strike me?' A monk came forward from the assembly and said, 'I will strike.' Linji picked up the stick and offered it to the monk. As the monk was about to take it, [Linji] struck him." The Master said, "Where Linji let go was quite perilous; his drawing it back was too swift."
