3.26

舉：「僧問長慶：『眾手淘金，誰是得者？』慶云：『有伎倆者得。』僧云：『學人還得也無？』慶云：『大遠在。』」師代者僧：「當時便喝。」復云：「有伎倆者得，一手分付；有伎倆者不得，兩手分付。學人還得也無？蒼天蒼天。」

He brought up: "A monk asked Changqing, 'When many hands pan for gold, who gets it?' Qing said, 'The one with skill gets it.' The monk said, 'Does the student get it too?' Qing said, 'Far from it.'" The Master, on behalf of the monk, [said]: "He should have shouted right then!" Then he said, "The one with skill gets it—entrusted with one hand; the one with skill does not get it—entrusted with both hands. 'Does the student get it too?' Blue sky! Blue sky!"
