僧問玄沙：「盡十方世界，是一顆明珠，學人為什麼不會？」沙云：「用會作麼？」別云：「諸方即得，我這裏不得。」

A monk asked Xuansha, "The entire world of the ten directions is a single bright pearl; why can this student not understand it?" Xuansha said, "What use is understanding?" In an alternative [the Master] said, "Everywhere else it might pass, but here with me it does not."
