4.13

有時云：「釋迦老子出氣不得，甚麼處誵訛？」代云：「填溝塞壑。」又代云：「退身三步。」問云：「填溝塞壑，負恩者多，甚處見老底？」代云：「香積世界。」

At times he would say: "Old man Śākya could not catch his breath—where was the mistake?" Speaking on their behalf, he said: "Filling ditches and blocking gullies." He also spoke on their behalf: "Stepping back three paces." He asked: "'Filling ditches and blocking gullies'—many are ungrateful for his benevolence. Where do you see the old fellow?" Speaking on their behalf, he said: "The realm of Gandhahastin (Xiangji)."
