4.20

有時云：「悔不慎當初。」便下座，却問僧：「他後作麼生舉？」代云：「好事不如無。」

At times he would say: "'I regret not having been cautious at the beginning.'" Then he stepped down from his seat and asked a monk: "Later on, how will you bring this up?" Speaking on their behalf, he said: "A good thing is not as good as nothing."
