或云：「威音王已前無師自悟，是第二句，還我第一句來。」代云：「掃土而盡。」問僧：「掃土而盡，儞還知麼？」代云：「因誰致得？」

Or he would say: "Self-enlightenment without a teacher prior to King Bhīṣmagarjitasvararāja is the second phrase. Give me back the first phrase!" Speaking on their behalf, he said: "Swept away completely to the earth." He asked a monk: "'Swept away completely to the earth'—do you know it?" Speaking on their behalf, he said: "Due to whom was it brought about?"
