上堂：「汝等諸人，盡是久經陣敵慣戰作家，倚天長劍即不問爾，作麼生是袖裏藏鋒？」代云：「寡不敵眾。」又云：「彼此。」

Ascending the hall, [the master] said: "All of you are veterans of battle and adept campaigners who have long weathered opposing ranks. The sword leaning against the heavens is not what I ask about; what is concealing the blade within one's sleeve?" Speaking on their behalf, he said: "The few cannot withstand the many." He also said: "Mutual."
