上堂：「寡不敵眾，什麼人分上事？」代云：「總由和尚。」又云：「彼此。」又云：「龍蛇易辯，衲子難瞞。許爾眼正，頂後一相拈得也無。」代云：「收。」

Ascending the hall, [the master] said: "'The few cannot withstand the many'—to whose lot does this affair belong?" Speaking on their behalf, he said: "It all depends on the Upādhyāya." He also said: "Mutual." He also said: "Dragons and snakes are easy to discern; a patch-robed monk is difficult to deceive. Even granting your eye is correct, can you bring forth the sign behind your crown?" Speaking on their behalf, he said: "Withdrawn."
