師一日見僧出歸，師云：「鬧市裏還見天子麼？」僧無語，師代云：「非但。」又云：「苦哉佛陀。」

One day the master saw a monk returning from going out and said: "Did you see the Son of Heaven in the bustling marketplace?" The monk was silent. On [his] behalf the master said: "Not merely that." He also said: "Alas, Buddha!"
