住成都府崇寧萬壽禪寺，師在昭覺，初受六祖請，拈帖示眾云：「幸自無事，須要箇護身符子作麼？然禍不入慎家之門，且作麼生斷這公案，會麼？兵隨印轉。請維那剖露。」

Taking up residence at Wanshou Chan Monastery in Chongning, Chengdu Prefecture. When the Master was at Zhaojue, upon first receiving the invitation from Liuzu, he held up the invitation letter, showed it to the assembly, and said: 'Fortunately, there is nothing the matter; why must one need an amulet to protect oneself?
