15.15

如來有密語，迦葉不覆藏，迦葉不覆藏，乃如來真密語也。當不覆藏即密，當密即不覆藏，此豈可與繫情量、立得失、存窠窟、作解會者舉耶？透脫到實證之地，向出格超宗頂𩕳上領始得。既已領略，應當將護，遇上根大器，方可印受也。

"The Tathāgata has an esoteric word; Kāśyapa does not conceal it." Kāśyapa's not concealing it is precisely the Tathāgata's true esoteric word. When it is not concealed, it is esoteric; when it is esoteric, it is not concealed. How could this ever be brought up to those who are bound by emotional calculations, establish gain and loss, abide in dens, and form intellectual understandings? Only when one has broken through to the stage of actual realization, and grasped it atop the crown of the head that goes beyond the ordinary and transcends the lineage, will one succeed. Having grasped it, one must protect and maintain it; only upon meeting someone of superior capacity and great caliber may one seal and transmit it.
