17.37

舉：「僧問長沙：『作麼生轉得山河大地歸自己去？』沙云：『作麼生轉得自己歸山河大地去？』」師拈云：「得人一牛，還人一馬。」

[The Master] cited: "A monk asked Changsha: 'How can one transform the mountains, rivers, and great earth to return to oneself?' Changsha said: 'How can one transform oneself to return to the mountains, rivers, and great earth?'"
The Master critiqued: "Getting an ox from someone, one returns a horse to them."
