17.5

舉：「臨濟入僧堂，兩堂首座齊下喝，僧問臨濟：『還有賓主也無？』濟云：『賓主歷然。』」師云：「正勅既行，諸侯避道。」

[The Master] cited: "Linji entered the monks' hall, and the head monks of the two halls shouted simultaneously. A monk asked Linji, 'Is there still host and guest or not?' Linji said, 'Host and guest are clearly distinct.'" The Master said, "Once the correct decree is put into effect, the feudal lords make way."
