19.23

舉：「僧問長沙：『本來身還成佛否？』沙云：『爾道大唐天子還刈茅割稻否？』僧云：『成佛又是何人？』沙云：『是爾成佛知不知？』」

[Yuanwu] brought up: "A monk asked Changsha, 'Does the original body still attain Buddhahood or not?' Changsha said, 'Do you say the Son of Heaven of the Great Tang still cuts thatch and reaps rice or not?' The monk said, 'Who is the one who attains Buddhahood?' Changsha said, 'It is you attaining Buddhahood—do you know it or not?'"
