將謂猴白，更有猴黑，互換投機，神出鬼沒，烈焰亘天佛說法，亘天烈焰法說佛，風前剪斷葛藤窠，一言勘破維摩詰。

Just when you thought the monkey was white, / there is also a black monkey. / Interchanging to fit the dynamic, / appearing like spirits, vanishing like ghosts. / Raging flames reach to heaven as the Buddha preaches the Dharma; / heaven-reaching raging flames are the Dharma preaching the Buddha. / Before the wind, cutting through the nest of creeping vines, / in a single word he sees through Vimalakīrti.
