19.59

舉：「雪峯示眾云：『望州亭與諸人相見了也，烏石嶺與諸人相見了也，僧堂前與諸人相見了也。』後保福舉問鵝湖：『僧堂前則且置，什麼處是望州亭烏石嶺相見？』鵝湖驟步歸方丈，保福便入僧堂。」

[Yuanwu] brought up [the case]: "Xuefeng addressed the assembly, saying, 'At Wangzhou Pavilion I met with you all; at Wushi Ridge I met with you all; in front of the Monks' Hall I met with you all.' Later Baofu brought this up and asked Ehu, 'Setting aside in front of the Monks' Hall for a moment, where was it that he met with them at Wangzhou Pavilion and Wushi Ridge?' Ehu strode quickly back to the Abbot's quarters; Baofu then entered the Monks' Hall."
