20.124

利刃斬虛空，神箭穿紅日，用吞十方口，吹此無孔笛。如斯三十年，不費纖毫力，信彩直鉤頭，也有錦鱗食。有眼自承當，慎勿從渠覓，大機要頓發，大用要直截。馬師老百丈，無端已漏泄，臨濟喚火來，坐斷天下舌。此老據胡床，也要恁麼說，說不說萬里，青天一輪月。

A sharp blade slashes empty space; / a divine arrow pierces the red sun. / Using a mouth that swallows the ten directions / to blow this flute without holes. / Thus for thirty years, / not expending the slightest bit of strength. / Cast at random on the straight hook, / brocade scales still bite. / If you have eyes, shoulder it yourself; / beware of seeking it from him. / Great potential must burst forth suddenly; / great function must cut straight through. / Master Ma and Old Baizhang / needlessly already leaked it; / Linji called for fire to come, / cutting off the tongues of the whole world. / This elder leans upon the rope chair / and also must speak like this. / Speaking or not speaking, across ten thousand leagues / a single round moon in the blue sky.
