道不在丹青，禪不在面相，強自貌將來，讚之作何狀。且就箇現成，為汝說一上，赤水求神珠，得之由罔象。圓悟老古錐，老來沒伎倆，英禪把將去，滔天滾白浪。

The Way is not in paints; / Chan is not in the facial form. / Forced to depict it, / what likeness can praise make of it? / For now, taking what is already at hand, / I speak once for you: / seeking the divine pearl in the Red Waters, / finding it was due to Xiangwang. / Old awl Yuanwu, / in old age has no artifice. / Chan Practitioner Ying, take it away; / rolling up white waves that inundate heaven.
