Ascending the hall, [the Master] said: "The dharmakāya is formless, manifesting shapes in response to dynamic potential; the Dharma eye is flawless, reflecting and examining things wherever it illumines. The place where arrangements cannot reach is the naturally authentic Buddha; the place where everyday use cannot reach is the transcendent dynamic. If you can cut off looking up in admiration above and cut off your own body below, so that your nostrils rub against the household tradition and your skull is always a thousand worlds, then the one is the immeasurable and the immeasurable is the one; within the small the great is manifested, and within the great the small is manifested. What further birth and death, going and coming would you seek? Earth, water, fire, wind, sound, fragrance, taste, and tangibles—all entirely constitute the substance of the true person. Is there anyone here who can take charge of this? Recognize the priceless maṇi jewel; future enjoyment will have no end."
